This Privacy Policy applies to the VaultCrypt mobile application and related services operated by Majestech (“Service Provider”, “we”, “us”).

Overview

VaultCrypt is a security app that lets you lock files, take private photos, lock other apps, and optionally capture intruder photos after failed unlock attempts. Most of your data stays on your device and is encrypted. We do not sell your personal information.

Information We Collect

1. Information you provide

PIN: Used to unlock the app. Your PIN is not stored in plain text. A cryptographic key is protected on your device.

Files and media you choose to lock: Photos, videos, audio, and other files you add to the vault are stored locally on your device in encrypted form.

Private camera photos: Photos taken inside the app are stored locally in the encrypted vault.

Intruder photos (optional): If enabled in Settings, the app may use the front camera to capture a photo after a failed PIN attempt. These photos are stored locally in the app.

App Lock settings: Which apps you choose to lock and your app lock preferences are stored on your device.

2. Information collected automatically

App usage for App Lock: With your permission, the app detects which app is in the foreground so it can show the lock screen. This is processed on your device.

Device information: Basic device/OS data needed for the app to work (for example, Android version). We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

3. Information we do not collect

We do not collect browsing history, contacts, SMS, or call logs.

We do not use cookies, advertising IDs, or third-party analytics SDKs in the current version.

Cloud backup is not available in this version. We do not collect account email or password for cloud services in the current release.

You can revoke permissions in your device settings. Some features may stop working if a required permission is denied.

How We Use Information

We use information only to:

Provide vault, app lock, and security features
Store and encrypt your data on your device
Improve app stability and security

We do not use your data for advertising or marketing.

Data Storage and Security

Vault files, intruder photos, and settings are stored on your device.
Sensitive content is encrypted before storage.
Android backup for the app is disabled (allowBackup=false).
Your PIN and encryption keys are handled using device security features and are not sent to us.
No method of storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect data on your device.

Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We may share information only:

If required by law or legal process
To protect rights, safety, or investigate fraud
With service providers who help us operate the app, under confidentiality obligations (if applicable in future)
In the current version, your vault data is not uploaded to our servers.

Data Retention and Deletion

Data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall VaultCrypt.
Uninstalling the app removes locally stored app data from your device.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because most data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it directly in the app or by uninstalling.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You may request information about data we collect and request deletion. We do not sell personal information. Contact majestech.app@gmail.com.

Children

VaultCrypt is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
