This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Photo Vault mobile application (the "App"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using the App.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to the practices described herein.
The App is developed and operated by Serhii Gavryliuk, an individual developer. We are the controller of your personal data, meaning we determine the purposes and means of processing your personal information.

The App may allow you to import, store, organize, and manage photos, videos, and other content on your device.
Depending on the features you use, this may include:
Photos and Videos. Photos and videos that you choose to import into the App or otherwise manage through the App.
User Content. Albums, notes, names, or other information you voluntarily create or provide within the App.
Security Information. Passwords, PINs, or other authentication information used to protect access to the App. Where technically possible, authentication credentials are stored securely and are not accessible to us in plain text.
Support Inquiries. Information you submit when contacting us via the support form, including your name, email address, and description of your issue.
Your photos, videos, and other User Content may be stored locally on your device and, where the App provides backup or synchronization functionality and you choose to use it, may be processed by the applicable storage or synchronization service.
We do not access or collect your private photos or videos for our own purposes beyond what is necessary to provide the features you explicitly use.
When you use the App, certain technical and usage data may be collected automatically:
Device Information. Device model, operating system version, app version, and device or app identifiers.
Crash and Performance Data. App crash reports, error logs, and performance metrics, collected via Google Firebase Crashlytics.
Usage Analytics. Information about how frequently and which features of the App you use, including screen views and in-app interactions, collected via Mixpanel.
Subscription and Purchase Data. Subscription status, purchase events, and in-app purchase history, processed via Adapty.
Advertising Data. Pseudonymous advertising identifiers and general usage signals used by Google AdMob.
The App requests access to your device's photo library solely to provide its photo and video management features.
Photo Library. Used when you choose to import, select, organize, export, or otherwise manage photos and videos through the App.
Camera. If the App provides camera functionality, camera access is used only when you explicitly choose to use that feature.
We do not access your photo library or camera in the background.
Photos and videos you select for use with the App are processed for the purpose of providing the requested functionality. We do not sell your photos or videos or use them for advertising purposes.
We want to be transparent about what we do not collect:
We do not collect your precise or approximate geographic location.
We do not collect health-related information.
We do not use your private photos or videos for advertising or behavioral profiling.
We do not send push notifications unless a notification feature is explicitly enabled and supported by the App.
We do not collect payment card details. All payments are processed by Apple through its In-App Purchase system.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
Providing the App. To operate the App and provide its core privacy, photo storage, organization, security, and other features.
Protecting Your Content. To provide password, PIN, biometric authentication, private albums, or other security features supported by the App.
Backup and Synchronization. Where available and explicitly enabled by you, to provide backup, synchronization, or restoration functionality.
App Stability and Improvement. To detect bugs, crashes, and performance issues and improve the stability and functionality of the App.
Analytics and Product Development. To understand how users interact with the App, identify popular features, and guide product development decisions.
Subscription Management. To process subscriptions, validate purchases, and manage access to premium features.
Advertising. To display advertisements to users on free or non-premium tiers of the App via Google AdMob.
Customer Support. To respond to your support requests and resolve technical issues you report.
Legal Compliance and Security. To comply with applicable laws and regulations, enforce our Terms of Service, protect our rights, and prevent misuse of the App.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Where we request your consent for a specific processing activity, such as certain optional permissions or personalized advertising, we process your information based on that consent.
Performance of a Contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Processing necessary to operate the App and fulfil any agreement made with you when you download and use the App.
Legitimate Interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Processing for analytics, crash reporting, product improvement, security, and fraud prevention, where we balance our interests against your rights and freedoms.
Legal Obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR). Processing required by applicable laws or regulations.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to the limitations described in applicable law. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
We share certain data with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App. These providers are permitted to use your data only as necessary to provide their services to us and are subject to appropriate data protection obligations.
Purpose: Crash analytics and app performance monitoring.
Data shared: Device identifiers, app instance identifiers, crash logs and stack traces.

Data shared: Pseudonymous user identifier, screen names visited, feature interactions, device type, OS version, and related usage information.

Purpose: Subscription and in-app purchase management.
Data shared: Pseudonymous user identifier, subscription status, purchase events, device type.

Purpose: In-App Purchase processing and push notification delivery.
Data shared: Apple handles all payment transactions directly. We receive only a purchase confirmation and subscription status. Push notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service (APNs); we do not retain APNs tokens on our servers.

Purpose: Displaying advertisements within the App.
Data shared: Pseudonymous advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID), device type, OS version, IP address, and general usage data. AdMob may use this data to serve personalised or non-personalised ads depending on your consent and device settings.
We do not share your private photos, videos, passwords, PINs, or other private User Content with AdMob for advertising purposes.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in your device settings: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → turn off Personalised Ads. Opting out does not remove ads from the App; it limits the use of your data for ad personalisation.

We may also disclose your information:
To comply with a legal obligation, court order, or lawful request from government authorities.
To protect the rights, property, or safety of users, us, or the public.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, in which case the acquiring party will be bound by this Privacy Policy or will notify you of material changes.
Where necessary to protect the security, integrity, or operation of the App.
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the App's features and fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Specifically:
Photos, videos, and other User Content stored locally in the App remain on your device until you delete, export, move, or otherwise remove them through the App or your device.
If backup or synchronization features are enabled, applicable User Content may be retained by the relevant storage or synchronization service according to its applicable policies and your settings.
Analytics data held by Firebase and Mixpanel is retained in accordance with those providers' standard retention policies.
Subscription-related information is retained as necessary to manage subscriptions, purchases, accounting, and legal obligations.
Support inquiry data is retained for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter.
If you delete the App, locally stored User Content may be removed from your device depending on the App's storage architecture and your device settings.
To request deletion of personal information held by us or our service providers, please contact us using the details in Section 13.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include:
Transmission of data to third-party services over encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS).
Use of pseudonymous identifiers where technically feasible to limit direct identification.
Limiting access to personal data to personnel and service providers who need it to perform their functions.
Security features such as passwords, PINs, biometric authentication, or other access controls where supported by the App.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
You are responsible for keeping your device secure and protecting your passwords, PINs, authentication credentials, and other access mechanisms.
The App may be available in multiple countries and regions. Our service providers, including Google, Mixpanel, and Adapty, may process and store data on servers located in the United States or other countries outside your country of residence.
For users in the EEA or UK, when we transfer personal data to countries that do not offer an equivalent level of data protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, or applicable adequacy decisions.
Regardless of your location, you may have the right to:

Request deletion of personal information we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate personal information.
Manage or withdraw permissions granted to the App through your device settings.

Photos and videos stored locally in the App can generally be managed directly through the App and your device.

The App is not directed at children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 for users in the EEA and UK). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete such information.
The App does not contain links to third-party websites or services other than those used to provide the App's functionality, as listed in Section 5.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or the App's features.
When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy and, where required by law, notify you within the App or by other appropriate means.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
