My research interests broadly cover two main areas in additional language acquisition: (i) formal/generative linguistics and (ii) sociolinguistics. My master's thesis investigates L1-Thai learners' offline judgments and online processing of the English passive construction with a focus on adversativity. Apart from the projects on English determiners, I'm currently interested in Ln acquisition of psych verbs, particularly attrition in multilingual speakers (an L3 cumulative effect on the L2). My doctoral dissertation focuses on how knowledge in an L3 affects L2 knowledge regressively (regressive transfer/CLI or attrition) by comparing L1-Thai L2-English, L1-Thai L2-English L3-Spanish, and L1-Thai L2-English L3-Korean speakers.
I initially became interested in linguistics through sociolinguistics which is now my secondary research area. Particularly, I examine topics related to language ideology and language attitudes toward varieties of English among language learners and their pedagogical implications.
My current research projects are listed below. Please feel free to contact me if you share similar interests and would like to collaborate :-)
