Christi Harrison, Mike LaCosse and Julieta LaMalfa
Mike LaCosse - Co-Director
This is Mike's fourth show. In his first year he wrote for "Deconstructed" and was given a solo in the "closer" that was actually the "opener" which he also wrote. It was obvious very quickly that he had mad talent. Some writers noticed that for the first time their songs were denied. That was all Mike's fault. Little did anyone know that he was funny and quite good at writing. He likes to joke that he has the highest rejection rate but even so his songs made up over half the show. That trend continued the following year with "A Million Dreams." He received thousands of texts from the Director asking, "what do you think of this or that." He was courteous and responded to every text. In that process he learned everything about the show. He continued to help the director of Animal Kingdom. He wrote one hundred versions of the script and made everyone on stage look funny. Then came the BIG QUESTION, will you direct next year? I think you know how he answered. :)
Christi Harrison - Co-Director
This is Christi's 7th year in the Variety Show. Her first show was "We are McKenzie". She was hooked immediately and signed up to be a night director and Assistant Producer in the show "Shuffle". The following year she Co-Produced "Thrillmette" and directed two numbers. She continued to direct numbers in "Deconstructed." Christi directed "A Million Dreams" and it was her first time working closely with Julieta. She loved working with Julieta and hoped they would get another opportunity. In the show "Animal Kingdom" she directed three numbers and took on the bulletin board. She loved that project so much. Now it's her last year and she pushed someone who helped her a ton in "A Million Dreams" to take the lead and direct the show. That someone is Mike LaCosse! Although this unique year will have challenges the show must go on. Christi's excited to support Mike and create a show and have fun!
Julieta LaMalfa - Executive Producer
This is Julieta's fourth show. She arrived at Mckenzie knowing all about the Variety Show. She pushed her husband, Steve, do join the show as he's the theatrical one in the family. She saw how much fun he had and how little talent is needed that she joined the following year in the show "Deconstructed." That same year Steve had signed up to help with the Business Team and somehow that work fell on Julieta's lap. Christi noticed and asked her to join the leadership team the following year for "A Million Dreams". She was such a fabulous producer that she was asked again to produce for Animal Kingdom. Christi was worried she might say no after leading for two years but luckily she said yes to Mike and Christi and is going solo as Executive Producer. Julieta's an amazing producer and knows how to get stuff done! Her greatest skills include: pivot tables, algorithms, and smooth talking.
