Check for BIOS updates. Some vendors have community forums where you may find BIOS settings needed for recent linux kernels. You should also check to see if your system can run Windows 10. I had an early core i7 system that was dual booting Windows 10 and Fedora 38 until the graphics card died (leaving we without legacy firewire and memory card support).

Not very important part:

I used VirtualBox with x86 machine for ArchLinux. It was working well.

About 1-2 moths ago i did "pacman -Syu" and got dead system with kernel panic on boot. Solved by installing my old kernel.

Now i thought maybe problem was in kernel and i can upgrade now. I did "pacman -Syu" and got kernel panic on boot.

I downloaded "archlinux-2015.10.01-dual.iso" and attempted to boot from it, but got kernel panic.

I thought maybe my VirtualBox 4 is not good anymore and downloaded VirtualBox 5, but it is too buggy for me, impossible to use.

So i installed VMware 12, moved my machine there and got kernel panic too. Loaded from "archlinux-2015.10.01-dual.iso", got kernel panic. Loaded "archlinux-2015.09.01-dual.iso", got kernel panic.

Created new machine in VMware, loaded from .iso, got kernel panic.

*Need to say that loading ArchLinux x64 inside x86 machine in VMware is working great. But i don't understand why and how. And this is not what i need. In VirtualBox x86 machine there is no option to load x64 ArchLinux.

**Here is screenshot of kernel panic

More important part:

Long story short, i found what is the reason. And here is steps to reproduce:

Host is AMD Phenom II X6 (6 cores) + Windows 7 x64 + VirtualBox 4.30.3 r101610

1)Open "Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager"

2)Create new ArchLinux x86 machine with default settings, but set CPU to 2 or more (in VMware i was using more than 1 core too)

3)Try to load i686 from "archlinux-2015.09.01-dual.iso" or "archlinux-2015.10.01-dual.iso" (didn't tested other)

4)It will kernel panic

I was using 4 cores for my machine, changed to 1 core and system successfully survived "pacman -Syu" and working, but with only 1 core.

But 1 core is too slow, how can i get back 4 cores?

Hi. I decided to move from a Beaglebone Black RasPBX into a FreePBX install. Seems like the Beaglebone can handle only 4 simultaneous calls. I may purchase an used Intel NUC Celeron dual core 2.4MHz 4GB RAM, which can support perhaps more simultaneous calls, but the device in view unfortunately has no CD-RW slot. It comes with Ubuntu pre-installed.

ensure your secure boot is enabled in bios, and in windows you do the hardware DEP for all software and set all exploit protection on and enable core isolation and memory integrity. If your OS had a virus thats ruining it you may need to bios secure erase wipe the drives before you can reinstall with it gone.

Out of the box, Windows 11 is a resource-hungry operating system that gulps up tons of RAM and CPU cycles, leaving older or underpowered systems unable to run it. The official system requirements demand not only TPM security and secure boot, but also at least 4GB of RAM, a dual-core processor and a 64GB SSD. But, with the release of Tiny11 Builder, you can make a lightweight Windows 11 install that gets around these requirements and runs well on PCs with limited memory and processing power. 589ccfa754
