Welcome to the homepage of the CoBra* Lab!
Our lab is part of the Brain and Cognition group of the Psychology Department of the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Our work focuses on many different things related to cognition and the brain. So it isn't really focused at all... It is all just to interesting and fun to choose only one specific area of interest. We are open to anything, really, but the main things we are currently investigating are mind-wandering (and how it relates to effort, depletion, sleep), unconscious processing, and multisensory integration.

*the name originates from the contraction of Conscious Brain because our main focus used to be studying the functions of consciousness. But we kind of lost focus and now also study mind-wandering, multi-sensory integration, and learning. The image (see the cobra-like nervous system on the left) we use for our lab is so cool, however, that we don't want to change names. So we will still go by the name CoBra lab, but it is now a contraction of Cognitive Brain. It's a much better fit with what we do.
