oh, Hello!

I’m Vanessa Valenzuela, A Multidisciplinary Artist based in Alliston, Ontario.

I love working with all kinds of mediums—collage, watercolor, acrylic, digital art, printmaking, photography, pastels, graphite—you name it. For over 15 years, I’ve been exploring the deep, messy, beautiful connection between humans and the natural world, especially the cycles of life, death, and transformation that tie us all together.

My work has been shown in Ontario, New York, and South Florida, and even featured in an art magazine based in Lisbon. One of my favourite moments was having my work included in an online exhibition with the Art Gallery of Ontario—it still feels surreal. Outside the studio, I’ve taught art to kids in Florida and jumped into live painting events across both the U.S. and Canada.

I’m also a proud member of the South Simcoe Arts Council, the Dufferin Arts Council, and the Newmarket Group of Artists. All of which keep me connected to an incredible creative community.

Aside from my Artistic career, I am also a mother to 1 human child, 3 feline children, and 1 reptilian child. I am an avid reader and book reviewer. In the time I don't spend creating, caretaking, or reading, I love to dabble. I love to learn new things and try out different hobbies.
