Product Quality Engineer Intern

  • Viewed drawings of over 800 C&MA (Cast and Machined Airfoils) engine parts and applied GD&T skills to assign each one to a part family to complete the catalog, which allows for business decisions to made on the part family level
  • Pulled data for overdue and upcoming supplier IncCID (Changes in Design) milestones and provided the status to PQE's to troubleshoot quality issues and ensure corrective action
  • Gathered and updated QEM (Quality Event Management) tracking data to evaluate the amount of escapes for C&MA parts for 12 weeks
  • Analyzed the CoQ (Cost of Quality) files for June and July for both C&MA and Farmout by deciding if suppliers should be charged for nonconformances and escapes
  • Assessed five supplier FAI's (First Article Inspections) and recommended corrections / improvements that were reviewed by a PQE before forwarded to the supplier for incorporation
  • Determined $165,000 savings opportunity by researching engineering and special process charges and interviewing personnel to validate that the engineers were documenting their time to the correct charge numbers
