Make minor repairs — painting walls, fixing small holes and replacing bench tops can make a big difference without costing much. Buyers will appreciate that the home is ready to be lived in.
First impressions count
The front entrance is where potential buyers will make a decision about whether to enter or not. Make sure the outside of your house is well kept, tidy and clean. A beautiful flowering plant by the front door can make your property more inviting.
Tidy closets and cabinets
Buyers will open closet and cabinet doors, so be prepared for this. Make sure everything is neat and tidy, so that buyers see you take good care of the house.
Clean
Get into all of the corners, scrub around the taps and make those windows shine to create an impression of a well-cared for home. Make your house sparkle.
De-personalise
Remove and replace favourite items you want to take with you. Pack away your personal photographs and family heirlooms. Make it easy for buyers to imagine themselves in your property. Get them thinking, ‘I can see myself living here’.
De-clutter
Tuck away ornaments and accessories—think of it as a head start on packing. Clear off everything on the kitchen counters and put essential items you use daily in a small box you can easily store away.
