If you are feelng slightly adventurous and have a little time to spare, you can also come from Schiphol to Utrecht by public transport. There is da train station in Schiphol and the Travel Planner website will give you precise directions of which train to take from which platform and if there any changes neede depending on your arrival time.
The travel planner also has a very nice app for smartphones called 9292, which is particularly useful to have ready on the day of the trip since it has the most up-to-date information about public transport, including cancelations, delays and the best alternative routes. In recent months several sectors, including public transport, have experienced shortages of personnel with the corresponding problems, so it is good to have the app at hand on the day, if you are planning on taking the train.
