The following flags only exist in the October 18, 2016 prototype:

The flags from the original game are present here as well but unused, compressed differently.Only exceptions are Argentina and Paraguay which instead have their respective MK8DX versions albeit compressed differently.

Up until circa March 2019, Iceland had the unique distinction of having a flag despite not being available.As of May 31, 2023, Russia has this distinction (in this case it's the reverse, it used to be available but was later removed for geopolitical reasons).* Netherlands Antilles, having a leftover MK8U flag in the files, was available in the Nintendo Account settings at launch, but was delisted after August 2017.
