About Us
Welcome to the Voyager Academy Middle School Band website! We are comprised of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and consist of a variety of instruments. We perform multiple concerts throughout the year. We happily welcome anyone who is interested in playing music, experienced or not. Check out the 'Why Band' poster (linked above) if you're considering joining.

Hello! My name is Jessica Hackman. I started my musical journey on the flute in 6th grade at Leesville Road Middle School. I continued into the Leesville Road High School Symphonic Band. I went on to attend Appalachian State University in the mountains of NC and graduated with a degree in Music Education. I recently had the opportunity to go back to LRHS and teach band while their director was out on maternity leave. I love playing all kinds of instruments from percussion to bassoon. In my free time I enjoy fostering cats, playing tennis, and repairing old instruments. I also run the Carolina Flute Choir which is comprised of beginner - intermediate flute players in Raleigh (always open to new members of all ages :)
