California AQI

In August 2020, California reported record low AQI (air quality index) rates. This was entirely caused by the wildfires that were burning all across the state. Cold air flowing from Canada down to California mixed with warm air from the Great Basin created lightning. This lightning struck highly-vulnerable regions like the Diablo and Coast Ranges, sparking very big wildfires.
