The Sunset Swim Team is a recreational swim team that practices in Livermore. Coach Mary Nygren is our beloved head coach and has been dedicated to the Sunset Swim Team for 17 years!
With the Granada Pool closed this summer for maintenance, we are happy to announce that we have secured a spot at Livermore High School (600 Maple St. Livermore, CA 94550) to practice and host our home swim meet for the 2026 season.
We are proud to share that the Sunset Swim Team is a 501c3. Our goal in obtaining this non-profit status is to create a close community where kids from 4-18 years of age learn the proper swim strokes by dedicated and talented coaches to compete in swim meets hosted in the Tri-Valley area. The Sunset Swim Team is run and managed by a volunteer board.
Sunset is a team of about 180 swimmers aged 4-18. We cap our age groups at the discretion of our coaches to ensure a positive experience for the swimmers. We view our swimmers (and their families) as part of our family. We enjoy fun events together like swim meet spirit days (tie-dye, poster making, etc.), End-of-Season party, and a buddy program to connect older and younger swimmers. Ribbons are given for places 1st through 8th for swimmers participating in meets. Swim meets are not mandatory.
