Gradual rise on well-maintained roads from Govindghat (1920 m) to the trek's starting point (2195 m). To save some valuable energy, one can choose to walk or take a shared taxi for 400 INR.

There are numerous porters and mules for rent at the starting point of the trek. It is recommended to leave your stuff in Govindghat and only bring what you absolutely need with you on the journey. Even your backpack can be transported to your hotel in Ghangaria by mules. After that, you can hike peacefully with just a camera and water bottle (plenty of places to refill)

(2926 m) Ghangaria to VoF (3505 m). To reach the farther extremities of the valley, we can hike an additional 2-3 km there. Only 3 km of the valley are accessible to visitors; the remainder is contained within the park's central region.

Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib (4300 m) is 2926 kilometres. Another option is to go to Hemkund Sahib, a Sikh pilgrimage place with a Gurudwara behind it and a glacial lake encircled by hazy mountains. Although it is a challenging 6-kilometer hike, mules can be rented in Ghangaria and used to travel to Hemkund.
