Evangelia (Valia) Gazaki

I am a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia since Fall 2019. Before that I was a postdoctoral Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan. I completed my Ph.D degree in Mathematics in June 2016 at the University of Chicago under the supervision of Professor Kazuya Kato.  I am originally from Greece and I received a B.A. and M.S. degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.  Here is a copy of my CV

Research Interests

I am interested in Arithmetic Geometry and more specifically in the arithmetic of algebraic cycles, Galois cohomology and p-adic Hodge theory.

My research is partially supported by the NSF grants DMS-2001605 and DMS- 2302196.

Together with Ken Ono, Andrei Rapinchuk and Igor Rapinchuk we recently organized a conference titled "Arithmetic Geometry and Algebraic Groups" at the University of Virginia in May 2023. The conference was partially supported by the NSF grant DMS-2305231

I am one of the founding members of the newly developed network Greek Women in Mathematics
