I am an applied economist currently based at Centre for Population Change (CPC) at the University of Southampton, where I hold a position as Research Fellow in Economics. I am also an IZA Research Affiliate. In my research I study the determinants and consequences of migration — including the location choices of refugees within the EU, the effects of the Brexit referendum on migration to the UK and the well-being of ethnic minorities, and the cross-border diffusion of knowledge through migrant networks.
My work has been published in the European Economic Review, World Development, and the Journal of Economic Geography. My research has generated policy and media engagement in the UK and Europe, with coverage in The Conversation UK, the Economics Observatory, the Center for Global Development Blog, and Population Europe.
I hold a PhD from the University of Insubria, completed in co-supervision with the University of Bordeaux.
