7th International Workshop on Singularities
in Geometry and applications,
València VII
Fortaleza, November 19-24, 2023
The “International Workshop on Singularities in Geometry and Applications” is an itinerant biennial workshop on Singularity Theory with special emphasis on its geometrical aspects and its applications. The first edition was held in València in 2009 and organized by María del Carmen Romero Fuster and the singularities research group at the Universitat de València. The idea behind this first event was to have a singularities workshop focused on geometry and applications.
The area of Generic Geometry and others such as Singularities of Caustics and Wavefronts and applications to computer vision or robotics were growing fast at that time and it was important to have a workshop where researchers could discuss these topics. During these last years, the event has become a key event in the singularities community and the main advances in geometrical aspects of singularities are communicated in these events. Other areas such as Bi-Lipschitz geometry of singularities and metric homology and homotopy theories have had a great impulse in these years and the need for this workshop as the meeting place to share these ideas is bigger than ever. In 2023, from 19 to 24 November, the "7th International Workshop on Singularities in Geometry and applications” will be held in Fortaleza, Brazil.
