Dr. Carlos Valdez is the Program Director of the Master of Science in Management- Integrated Business track and Senior Lecturer and Lead Faculty for the Integrated Marketing and Sales course in the Integrated Business program of the College of Business Administration at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Valdez is a Professional Certified Marketer in Digital Marketing by the American Marketing Association.
He has more than 28 years of teaching experience in marketing and sales. Since 2010 at UCF, he has taught courses in Digital Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communications, Principles of Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Services Marketing, Marketing Management, Contemporary Selling, Integrated Marketing and Sales, and Sales and Marketing Strategies.

Through his classes and with his students at UCF West, UCF Osceola, and UCF Orlando, he has served over 100 small businesses in Central Florida with marketing consultation projects. At UCF, he has earned the University Excellence Teaching Award 2023, the College of Business Excellence in Teaching Award 2023 and 2016, and the Teaching Incentive Program Award 2015. He was the business coach for the UCF National Champions team at the HSI Battle of the Brains in 2022. He leads the annual Northwestern Mutual IB Sales competition.
He earned 24 graduate credits for his Doctoral degree at the University of Florida and received the 2005 Doctoral Dissertation Award from the American Academy of Advertising (AAA). He has been a Visiting Professor at Florida State University in the Center for Hispanic Marketing and Chair of the Business Department at Keiser University.
His international experience includes teaching face-to-face marketing courses and seminars in Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru. His research area is personal branding on LinkedIn. He is a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA), Society of Marketing Advances (SMA), and Association of Marketing Theory and Practice (AMTP).
