Personal

About Me

I'm a nature lover who is ever-ready to explore prairies, plains, forests, valleys, and mountains wherever I go. I am fond of hiking and observing flora and fauna in natural habitats. In particular, I love birds and sometimes try my hand at bird photography. You can explore some of my pictures of birds and nature to the right. I practice yoga to keep mentally and physically fit. I recently began learning Bharatanatyam, an Indian classical dance form that stimulates and unites my mind, body, and spirit. I follow the spiritual teachings of Hindu scriptures and Vedanta via the Chinmaya Mission. I am extremely grateful to all my friends, family, mentors, guides, and teachers who have helped me grow through life.

Some poems

Nature, a teacher

O! Mother Nature, so magnificent and pure,

Witness and embrace Her enchanting allure -

The trees, the animals, the birds, the flowers,

Just stand and stare for hours and hours.

Witness the endless, dark clouds that shade,

Morph into the splendid blue sky, as they begin to fade,

Observe and accept life’s ephemeral, fleeting ways,

As the clouds disappeared, this too shall pass away,

Stop to smell the flowers, soft, gentle, and bright,

Which absorb, except their own, all colours of light,

Akin to the flowers, whatever life throws at you,

Soak up all colours, except that which is truly you,

Behold the free bird soaring up in flight,

Which unfailingly returns to the nest at night,

Forget not to gracefully come back to your nest,

And be surrounded by the warmth of your family best,

Contemplate upon the seasons of the year -

The glorious birth, spring, with so much to smell, see and hear,

The sheltering attitude of summer, and the graceful exit of fall,

If we can mimic that, won’t that be a boon for all?

In Her own, unique way, Nature can teach,

That which a million words cannot reach,

If only we observe, learn, and grow,

Nature has infinite lessons to teach, infinite values to sow!
