Hi! I am Vaishnavi, a postdoctoral researcher in the LTS4 group and the Center of Imaging at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne since August 2022. Here, I work with Prof Pascal Frossard and Dr. Dorina Thanou on signal processing and machine learning application in digital pathology.

Prior to this, I completed by Ph.D. in Summer 2022 in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I was a part of the Coordinated Science Laboratory. My Ph.D advisors were Prof Minh Do of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department and Dr. Tanveer Syeda-Mahmood from IBM Research, Almaden. My Ph.D. thesis work focused on effectively combining information from imaging and genomic modalities from cancer patients. I completed by undergraduate degree at IIT Bombay in Electrical Engineering in 2016.

I am interested in applying signal processing and machine learning tools to improve our understanding of complex diseases like cancer and provide better healthcare to all.
