At Department of English we have library with large number of books. Every year a student representative is selected to manage the library and to carry out group library visit at central library.

Thanks to our teacher Dr.Dilip Barad, who always motivates students to make maximum use of library. Not only the regular students, but former students, PhD scholars and MPhil students also visits library regularly.

Library at Department of English has a large collection of books, audio-Visual reading content and lots of reading material. This year Library Committee also came up with a New Reading Room in Department of English. This reading room has traditional as well as modern ways of learning. There you will find e-resources like TV, Tape recorder, DVD player and collection of books, magazines and journals. Reading Room have WiFi zone too.

Library is a place from where you get ample amount of knowledge. It depends on the readers how much they can grasp a cup, a bucket or a tank full of knowledge.

Many Committees work in this department under the guidance of The Head of the Department, Dr.Dilip Barad. In every academic year, a head is appointed from the senior students, who lead the committee.

Working as a leader of this committee is a fruitful and marvellous experience. Everyone likes to be a leader but it is not at all easy to manage people and all the books together. It is a difficult task. In starting it took me a week to get familiar with all the books, but then it was all set. There is no proper timing for Library at Department. It is open all day, so that the students can access books anytime they like. All students’ sign is taken while issuing and submitting books. Being HOD of the department, even Sir follows this procedure. This is something I learnt that rules are similar of everyone. And everyone should follow it cooperatively and equally. Learnt so many life skills from this experience.

Alone I couldn’t have managed this work. I would like to thank Library Committee Members Bhumi Dangi, Nupur Vyas, Brijal Oza, Poojaba Gohil, Hitaxi Bhatt, Divya Choudhary, Riva Pandya, Bhatti Zarna,Ankita Gohel and Pooja Bhaliya. You all gave me constant support in making of Reading Room, carrying out monthly library visit, managing library, arranging books, submitting books at central library and in overall work. In this all work many times I got angry at you all, still you people always stood with me and took the equal responsibility.
Alone I couldn’t have managed this work.
