Dr. Kumar received the B.E. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from CSVTU India in 2012, the M. Tech degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (with a specialization in Mobile Communications) from The LNMIIT Jaipur in 2015, and the PhD degree in Wireless Communications from UCD Ireland in 2020. Since Sept. 2023, he has been a Postdoctoral Associate in the Engineering Division at NYU Abu Dhabi, UAE. Before this, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at UCD, Ireland. He was a recipient of the prestigious Erasmus+ ICM grant during his PhD. He also held a Project Associate position in the Dept. of Electronics and Communication Engineering at The LNMIIT Jaipur during 2015-16, and a Lecturer position in the Dept. of Biomedical Engineering at NIT Raipur during 2012-13. 

He is an Area Editor at Physical Communication (Elsevier). He has been a member of the TPC for various conferences including ANTS 2022, ANTS 2023, WCNC 2024, ICC 2024, VTC 2024 and GLOBECOM 2024. His main research interest lies in the broad domain of wireless communications and signal processing. In recent years, his research has been mostly focused on reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) / intelligent reflecting surface (IRS), integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), next-generation multiple access techniques (including NOMA and RSMA), physical layer security, mobile edge computing, and massive MIMO networks.
