I am an energy systems specialist with a strong background in electrical power engineering, optimisation, and electricity market modelling. I hold a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Tabriz (2008, 2011), and a Ph.D. from Shahid Beheshti University (2017).
Following my Ph.D., I worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Salerno (2018–2019), focusing on advanced demand response programs and their integration into modern power systems. I also spent a period as an invited researcher at North China Electric Power University, contributing to international research collaborations in smart energy systems.
I later joined University College Cork, where I worked on the CENTS (Cooperative Energy Trading System) project. This project focused on the development of a blockchain-enabled peer-to-peer energy trading platform, combining software architecture, hardware considerations, and market/regulatory design for next-generation energy systems.
Currently, I am working in industry as a Process Optimization Director at GridBeyond, where I lead the development of advanced optimisation models and energy market solutions across multiple regions, including Ireland, Great Britain, Japan, Australia, and the U.S. My work focuses on virtual power plants, battery and CHP optimisation, industrial flexibility (including cement plants), and the integration of assets into ancillary service and wholesale electricity markets.
