a bit about me:
Vahid is a senior optimization engineer at GridBeyond. Before joining GridBeyond, he used to work as an experienced researcher in the higher education industry. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in electrical power engineering in 2008, 2011, and 2017, respectively. Then, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Salerno, Salerno, Italy, in 2018 and 2019. His project was related to advanced demand response programs. He afterward spent a brief time as an invited researcher at North China Electric Power University. After that, he was with the Dept. of Electrical Engineering at University College Cork, working on his second postdoctoral research project, CENTS (Cooperative Energy Trading System). Currently, he is with GridBeyond and supports their modeling and optimization team. In his new role, he is modeling numerous technical and market-related products for VPP, electrical bus fleets, EVs, and microgrids while working on various markets, including Ercot, Caiso, PJM, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, and Japan.
