Vadikatti Scholar Filter is a Chrome extension that adds research tools directly to Google Scholar. It helps students and researchers organize search results, identify relevant and foundational papers, and use AI to create concise summaries of accessible research sources.
Vadikatti works alongside Google Scholar to make reviewing academic literature faster and easier. Enter a research question or claim, and Vadikatti helps you:
Rank research results using signals such as citations, publication year, and foundational relevance.
Identify foundational papers that may otherwise be buried in search results.
Assess relevance with AI to help prioritize papers related to your research question.
Summarize accessible sources using the OpenAI API.
Preserve references to the original research sources.
Download your results for further review and research.
Vadikatti does not attempt to bypass publisher restrictions or paywalls. If a source cannot be accessed through the supported Google Scholar workflow, the extension skips it.

Install Vadikatti Scholar Filter, add your own OpenAI API key in the extension settings, and launch Google Scholar.
Your OpenAI API key is used to make AI requests and is stored locally using Chrome extension storage. When you request an AI analysis, relevant research information is sent to OpenAI for processing.
Vadikatti Scholar Filter was created by Manaswini Madhusudhanan, an 11th-grade student at Eastside Preparatory School.Â
I created Vadikatti to explore how AI can make academic research easier to navigate, particularly when a Google Scholar search produces many papers and it is difficult to determine which sources are most useful or foundational.
Vadikatti is an independent student project and is not affiliated with Google, Google Scholar, or OpenAI.
Vadikatti is designed to collect only the information necessary to provide its research features. The extension does not operate its own server for storing users' OpenAI API keys.
