This Privacy Policy describes how HDMPixels ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Vaanix mobile application ("the App") available on Google Play.

Please read this policy carefully. By using Vaanix, you agree to the practices described here.

Vaanix is built on a privacy-first foundation. All recording, transcription, and storage happens entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, or have access to your voice recordings or notes.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

All data created by Vaanix — including voice recordings, transcriptions, notes, folders, tags, and settings — is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage (AES-256). This data is:


4. Permissions the App Uses

Vaanix requests the following permissions. Each permission is used solely for the stated purpose:

Microphone (required at install) Used to record your voice notes. Audio is processed and stored locally on your device only.

Notifications (required at install) Used to deliver reminders you set within the app. No notification content is sent to any server.

Camera & Photo Library (requested only if you use image features) Used to attach photos to your notes or project documents. Images are stored locally on your device only.

Biometrics / Device Credentials (requested only if you enable App Lock) Used to authenticate access to the app via fingerprint or face unlock. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device's operating system and is never accessed or stored by Vaanix.


5. On-Device Transcription (Whisper)

Vaanix uses the Whisper speech recognition model, which runs entirely on your device. No audio or transcription data is sent to any external server during this process. The Whisper model file is downloaded once during setup and stored locally on your device.


6. Crash Reporting (Optional, Opt-In)

Vaanix offers optional crash reporting to help us identify and fix technical issues. This feature is:

If you choose to enable crash reporting, anonymised technical information (such as error logs and device type) may be shared with our crash reporting provider. This information does not include your notes, recordings, or any personal content.

You can disable crash reporting at any time from within the app settings.


7. Third-Party Services

Vaanix does not integrate with third-party advertising networks, analytics platforms, or data brokers. The only third-party service that may receive data is our crash reporting provider, and only if you have explicitly opted in (see Section 6).


8. Children's Privacy

Vaanix is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we collect no personal information from any user, no special handling is required.


9. Data Security

All notes and recordings stored by Vaanix are encrypted on your device using AES-256 encryption. Since data never leaves your device, it is not subject to transmission-related security risks.


10. Your Rights and Control

You have full control over all data stored by Vaanix:

Since we do not collect or store any personal data on our servers, there is no additional data to request, export, or erase from our end.


11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
