Data collecting

At the end of May. We started to take a photo of the cocoa seeds from Nakhon Si Thammarat and Kad Cocoa. On that day, it was our first batch of cocoa seed pictures. But it is still not enough to start on Machine Learning (ML). That made us continue on cocoa seed over and over again.

Data Labelling

After we have enough pictures, we have to do a labelling process for those pictures first to make the computer understand "what we will tell them".

YOLO v5

On 7/06/23, we had the first update on YOLO v5, the result of the dataset that we took.

Proposal Presentation - Senior Project I

Typically, at the end of the semester, senior student needs to do a presentation to present their project. On Wednesday, 29th November 2023, our group had to do a proposal presentation to let the committee know what we are doing and what our plan is next semester and also get feedback from the committee.

Progress update with School of Agricultural Resources, Chulalongkorn University (CUSAR)

This project cooperates with CUSAR. On our side, we are responsible for the computer making a model for cocoa seed classification, and CUSAR is responsible for botany.

Repeat data collection and data labelling again. 

We noticed that the data from last semester is not efficient enough to improve our model. We decided to retake the cocoa seed picture.

Poster Presentation

The 2024 15th ICT Senior Project Annual Poster Exhibition and Conference (ICT SP-APEC2024) is an event name that every senior student needs to attend to share their project with other year students and committees.  This event was organized on Wednesday, 21 February 2024, by the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University.

Transfer Learning

Because of the training process, we use datasets from only farms. For this reason, the result used with other farms is unefficient. We integrate the model with transfer learning to make the model capable of use with another farm by using another dataset from different farm trains with the old model.

Senior project defend presentation

We put much of the effort into our work for years. Most of the time, we feel discouraged, but we need to keep it under our feelings, give encouragement and rise together again. We keep practising the presentation, thinking of possible questions to seal the leak day after day. On 22 April 2024, Our team is in the final stage. We start to present immediately after the committee and advisors join the session, only a minute. Every going seems quite well. Anxiety hit our team hard again when a presentation reached the question and answer. We answer the question using our experience on this project for a year. After that, advisors asked us to wait outside the room to discuss whether to give us a perfect pass, pass with editing or not pass. Then, we join the session again. The committee says, "Congratulations, you passed!". We never felt relieved like this for years. Thank our team that we never have an argument or trash talk together. We have a responsibility for our work. We divided the work based on what we were good at. We would like to say thank you to our advisor, AJ.Worapan Kusakunniran, for taking care of, recommending, and teaching us life and academic lessons. It's our favour for being under AJ. Moreover, we would like to thank our senior, P'Sai, for giving us a very nice recommendation on life and academic lessons. P'Yu, for being by our side and listening to us every time we consulted you and P'Hongtae, for being the technician for things like AnyDesk, server, and computer. It's our unforgettable memory and experience of being a "team" together.
