WRIST WARMERS (RIEŠINĖS) •Wrist warmers (riešinės) are artistic accessory and were part of the national costume in Lithuania. It is a ~5-15 cm long ornate woolen wristband, knitted -in-beads •The wrist warmers are associated both with a century-old tradition and sports where it is used to wipe off the sweat. •Moreover, these ornate knitted garments all at once became very popular again as artistic accessories manifesting creativity and beauty, their practical functionality becoming less important. •More and more women wear wrist warmers as part of their business attire or on special occasions. Men, too, are tempted by this fashion. •They fit in your purse or back pocket, and you can slip them on whenever it gets too chilly for short sleeves, but you don’t have a cardigan or jacket with you. They provide just the right amount of warmth when the air conditioning is still on in the office even though the weather has started to cool down outside. •Unlike mittens and gloves, wristlets do not hinder from doing your work, something we can appreciate, especially those of us using smart phones and tablets
