This section establishes the theoretical foundation of V-Planning, introducing a value-oriented planning paradigm based on the principles of the Urban Value Field (UVF). Moving beyond conventional function-oriented and land-use planning approaches, V-Planning conceptualizes urban planning as the optimization of urban value across space and time. The section presents the scientific principles, conceptual framework, and mathematical foundations that support value-based planning, while examining the structure, dynamics, and spatial organization of the Urban Value Field. It further explores the key drivers of urban value and their interactions with infrastructure, economic activities, environmental systems, and public policies. By integrating spatial economics, systems science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and computational modeling, this theoretical framework provides a rigorous foundation for analyzing, simulating, and optimizing urban development, supporting evidence-based planning and sustainable metropolitan transformation.
