Spring 24' we were brought an enriching Lunch & Learn session with WSP, featuring a dynamic panel of young architects, civil, transportation, and structural engineers. Engaging in interactive discussions and Q&A sessions, we delved into their professional journeys and gained valuable insights into the engineering industry.
Winter 24', we had the incredible opportunity to explore the Tacoma Public Utilities Filtration Plant. This facility plays a crucial role in Tacoma's water infrastructure, ensuring the delivery of clean and safe drinking water to our community. From witnessing the intricate filtration processes to understanding the significance of water infrastructure, it was a truly enlightening experience.
Oregon City, Oregon
Fall 23', we visited the impressive $445 million I-205 Abernethy Bridge Project in Oregon. It's ODOT's largest project in 45 years, adding seismic readiness, an extra lane each way, and roadway improvements to this vital bridge over the Willamette River in Portland. An excellent example of innovative infrastructure development.
Helena, Montana
Summer 23', we attended the ASCE Region 8 Assembly in Helena, Montana. Highlights included a tour of the Cannon Ferry Dam and participating in a strategic meeting to influence resource allocation for students. It was an insightful and engaging experience that will shape our future ASCE activities.
We had a fantastic potluck at Wright Park. Members gathered to share delicious dishes, engage in meaningful conversations, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Our ASCE Club at UWT has officially submitted the Statement of Establishment, marking a significant milestone towards becoming an official ASCE student chapter.
