Postgrad Fellowships

The UWC Media Inclusion and Diversity Chair recognizes that postgraduate supervision is a crucial strategic focus area. The Chair is committed to nurturing emerging scholars who are passionate about exploring the complex intersections of media, inclusion, and diversity. This commitment is exemplified by the cohort of postgraduate fellows currently pursuing research within the Chair's thematic areas. These fellows, with backgrounds in linguistics, media studies, English, history and related fields, are investigating diverse topics ranging from the impact of social media influencers on young audiences to the nuanced ways in which cultural identity is negotiated online. Their work promises to contribute significantly to our understanding of media's role in shaping social perceptions and promoting more inclusive and equitable communication practices.
