Assignments (60%): There will be 3 Assignments, each worth 20 grade points. You will submit solutions to 4 problems in each assignment, each problem will be worth 5 points.
Scribe (10%): Each student must scribe two lectures. Each scribe is worth 5 points. Sign up here. Template file. Style file.
Final project (30%): The final project has two components---an oral presentation and a written summary. Each student will read and present a recent research paper that is relevant for the course. The presentation is worth 20 points. In addition, the student will present a summary of the paper, highlighting the main ideas and identifying open directions (if any). This summary is worth 10 points. Your summary should not exceed 3 pages.
