What matters is honesty: please include a brief acknowledgment with your submission describing what you worked out on your own and where you got assistance. There is no penalty for asking for help.
Example acknowledgment: "I solved part (a) independently. For part (b), I came up with the algorithm myself but got help from John Doe on the analysis."
