Running in the Río
A common activity that students partake in on their own time is running in the Río. The Río is located in the center of the city. It used to be a river, but it was dammed off due to flooding and later converted into a park. You can find workout equipment scattered along the pathways as well, so if you want to go for a run and then exercise with some equipment in the outdoors, the Río is the place for you!
Yoga with Jennison
Jennison has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. She is originally from San Diego and teaches the yoga classes in English to make them accesible to all. She also organizes other events like "Yoga and Brunch" and "Yoga and Wine" to enable people to establish connections with one other. Classes are currently held weekly on Sundays in the riverbed near the City of Arts and Sciences. Be sure to stay updated on Facebook for class times and cancellations.
Valencia Club de Fútbol at the Mestalla
If you would much rather go and watch sports instead of physically partaking in them, you will enjoy going to a Valencia Club de Fútbol (Valencia CF) game! You can buy the tickets online, through the school, or at the door. The tickets are not outrageously expensive, especially if you are okay with sitting in the nosebleeds. Regardless of where you end up sitting, it will end up being a blast! This can be a really fun outing with friends or your host family!
Cycleup Valencia
Cycleup is an indoor cycling studio in Valencia with modern technology. You can book your bike online from your phone or home computer and your results from your ride will be emailed to you so that you can keep track of how your fitness level is improving. While you would have to pay for these classes, they would give you an amazing workout and give you yet another environment where you could meet locals and get to know more people while you are abroad!
