I'm looking forward to an enjoyable time of creative problem solving and fellowship.  Thanks.  -DA

Jay,

Glad to have your help setting up the lantern garden display outside the front of UUFCC.  We'll need to do this before Saturday Feb. 25 at 5 pm.  If you are available, I propose to meet that Saturday at about 1 pm.  The weather forecast suggests it won't be super cold or super stormy - but we should keep track of that as the day approaches.  It'll have been reasonably warm prior to that day, so frozen soil should not be a problem for posts.  By Saturday I should have installed all three banners, so we can focus on other things.

1.  block the motion sensing outdoor light sensors with foil tape

2.  install the shepherd's hooks and wires on IMAGINE wall

3.  install tomato towers and snow poles to create a path and 'shrubs'

4.  add plant material to the tomato tower 'shrubs'

5.  install cord and light for the creativity cycle banner

6.  install garden art pieces in the 'garden' in front of the IMAGINE banner

7.  use wire and tape to create hooks - hanging locations off branch tips

8. prepare for two outdoor bluetooth speakers and ipad (bags to cover, elevated box to protect ipad from the elements; possibly a short extension cord)

9.  clean up under the front porch

10.  turn off outdoor lights

We will need:

1. Plant material.  I will bring some cuttings of a butterfly bush and some wire.  We might need a few cuttings from around UUFCC or your home.

2. Shepherd's hooks - I have some tall ones, but we probably need 1 or 2 more tall ones.  We can use any short hooks (3 ft.) - but short ones are not essential.

3.  Garden art.  I will bring some lightweight art pieces including both things that sit on the ground and those that are on stakes (butterfly, dragon fly, flower, turtle, etc.).  I also bring a few scary critters for garden of Eden whimsy (snake, creepy bug, etc.)

Probably the biggest thing you can do before we meet is contact a few of our avid UUFCC gardeners and see if there is any fun lightweight garden art they might be willing to share that Saturday and Sunday.

I plan to post this setup info to be accessible to you or others via our webguide.

I'll send that precise link later.

Thanks,

Doug
