Children's Program

The Online Class Experience

Every Sunday, children and youth gather in Zoom meetings with age-group peers and caring adults to explore the monthly themes of the congregation. Themes are conveyed through story, discussion, music, games and hands-on activities. Though we are in front of the screen, our goal is classes not to be "staring at a screen." Find the full class schedule with Zoom links here.

March Theme: Commitment

How is Imagination religious education? To develop empathy and envision acts of compassion, we need our imagination to ourselves in other shoes. Your child's imaginary play allows them to explore possibilities, consider differing points of view, and ultimately to imagine the better world we seek to create. Finding our connection to invisible concepts like Love, and ultimately to Source, God, or the universal energy, however we name it, requires a level of abstract thought which begins in imagination as well as experience.

Every Sunday Preschool and Kindergarten children gather for a story, song and simple meditative moment- like belly breathing. Only 15-20 min., this gathering time is designed to be short enough to match the children's attention span online, and helpful in offering the children encouragement and friendly adults and peers.
