The Music

and-so-it-goes.pdf

"And So it Goes" is incredibly delicate and difficult to perform. If there is any time one could use a conductor to guide you through the ritardardandos and accelerandos, it is now. Alas- there's no way to do that- but we have a work around!

Just a few notes re: the music to watch out for.

  • Watch for different rhythms complicated by rubatos and accelerandos.

  • Start and stop the words correctly WITH the recording.

  • Take breaths as they do in the recording.

  • Phrase the music as they do in the video. Keep the air moving until the very end of the beat or rhythm you are singing.

  • Watch out for words that end in "T" or "S."

  • Watch for breaks in the music.

  • Use the recording to find your part. Practice WITH it!

  • The harmonies are super tight or close together. The arrangement was done for 6 separate male voices. Use a keyboard or piano app on your cell to find certain notes you are having a difficult time hearing.

  • Watch the dynamics! It's sooo delicate.

  • Stay in tune....

  • Avoid using lots of vibrato so we can blend together better.
