A project whose primary goal is to maintain the buildings' historical significance while giving them a contemporary and appropriate appearance. Because the shop lots are situated in a heritage area along Bandar Hilir, Melaka, we, as architecture students, are required to revitalize the facade of the existing old shop lots and design in a vernacular design language, preferably using timber construction, and tailored to the current tenants of the shop lots.
P2A: SITE ANALYSIS
A project whose primary goal is to perform a thorough site inventory and analysis for a common site used by two workbases in Melaka. The goal is to give students a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities and limitations of their site, which will later inform their individual architectural proposals for the main and final Project 2B.
