Biography
Utkarsh Pathak is a Research Scholar in the Department of Physics, at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India. His research interests include multi-messenger astronomy, Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs), X-ray transients, and X-ray Binaries. His primary focus is on understanding polarization from a GRB. He hails from Lucknow - the capital of the state Uttar Pradesh in India and completed his BSMS degree from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali, India. He is a sports fanatic and loves trekking. He has actively participated in outreach, spreading public awareness about scientific-technological feats for fields like LIGO-India, or the proposed high energy transients mission Daksha, in forums like Techfest (Asia’s largest college technology fest), and the annual Astronomical Society of India meetings.
