Residents will bring one pre-collected sample, with one barcode affixed, to their designated collection location. They will also bring their VolCard.
Two collection staff, with a number of supplies, will be waiting at the designated collection location to receive saliva samples
Student-Athletes
Students with a positive COVID-19 result in the last 90 days
Objective 1: Sample all residential students once per week
Participation for residential students is mandatory per their housing contract, but participation will also be incentivized
Residence halls/houses are grouped based on geography, living style, and number of residents
Residential collections will take place Monday-Friday 7:30am-11:00am at designated residential buildings
Each residential building will have its own designated collection day and location, which will remain consistent throughout the semester
Objective 2: Use remaining capacity to sample off-campus students
Participation for off-campus students is voluntary, but will be incentivized
The saliva lab can handle up to 8,000 samples per week
Off-campus students will be pushed to commuter collections based on an opt-out registry system
Commuter collections will take place Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 10:30am-2:00pm at designated central locations
Objective 3: Provide students with as many opportunities to participate as possible
The Student Health Center will serve as an alternate drop-off location for students who cannot make their designated collection window
The Student Health Center will accept samples Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:00pm
The Student Health Center will ONLY accept samples that are pre-collected and properly tubed and barcoded
Students who cannot make their designated collection window and need additional tubes or barcodes can go to any commuter collection event
