Our Purpose

UTech Rural Society (UTRS) exists to provide exciting educational opportunities and networking to each of its members while increasing and enhancing the spirit of volunteerism.

UTRS will aim to bring more awareness to Rural Secondary students on the various educational opportunities that they can pursue. The society will also seek to sustain rural cultures and broaden students’ knowledge on the importance of entrepreneurship. The Rural Society will strive to bring students together from diverse backgrounds.

UTRS will enable members to develop programs that will give persons living in rural Jamaica an equal chance to achieve their fullest potential. This will be done through collaboration with UTECH and various corporate and government agencies that will impact the lives of all Jamaicans in a positive way.
