WHO ARE WE? WHAT DO WE DO?

The GIS Student Organization (GISSO) at UTD is dedicated to the promotion of scientific knowledge in the various disciplines of geography, spatial analysis, and remote sensing. GISSO fosters understanding and cooperation to expedite the exchange of knowledge and ideas among members and with those of other national and international organizations with related interests. In the fall, the GISSO works to coordinate and present our GIS Day event with the help of volunteers all over the UT Dallas campus. Throughout the rest of the year, GISSO focuses on enriching the university experience of GIS students at UTD by hosting guest speakers, organizing social events, and arranging career talks.
