The Department of Communication at the University of Utah is a top department in the field of communication, with an award-winning faculty, undergraduate programs, and state-of-the-art facilities. The Communication major at The University of Utah emphasizes academic learning, including theoretical and methodological expertise, along with practical and technical knowledge and training. There are two traditional emphases that undergraduate students can pursue:
strategic communication (1) and journalism (2).
The department also offers an emphasis in communication studies (3) and the most recent addition: science, health, environment and risk communication (4).
