July 1st, 2024, Utah passed a bill known as the "Road Raging Amendments," this bill is put into effect now, to protect those on the road, and to increase punishment given by road raging.
This bill is to address the escalating problem of aggressive driving behaviors found on our roadways today. Utah has had over 700+ road rages accidents this year alone, and its only increasing.
UHP Troopers will be cracking down on road raging incidents, while keeping these goals in mind: Increase penalties and fines for serious road rage criminal behavior and discourage drivers, while our main goal is to create an educational campaign to showcase the consequences of road rage and the penalty's that come with it.
Offenders can expect to pay up to thousands in citations, suspended driver's license, impounded vehicles, and possible felony or aggravated assault charges.
Help put an end to road raging today.
Safe travels,
