Research Enrichment: CITI Program
The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) provides peer-reviewed, high quality online educational courses in research, ethics, responsible conduct of research, research administration, regulatory oversight, and other topics important in scientific research. Materials available through the CITI Program are regularly updated to educate and enhance professionalism and ethics for investigators, students, staff, and administrators involved with research in the United States.
CITI Program’s content includes nearly two dozen subject areas, ranging from "Animal Care and Use", "Biosafety and Biosecurity," "Clinical Research Coordinator," and "Conflicts of Interest" to "Information Privacy and Security" and "Responsible Conduct of Research". The program has over a million learners annually from thousands of organizations.
UT Health San Antonio is an institution that collaborates with the CITI program, and its ethics education is required of all people who "intervene or interact with research subjects or obtain private, identifiable information." Further information on the association between the institution and program are available here.
