Freshwater systems are highly vulnerable to stressors like drought, flooding, and changing land use. Two new tools show us where water is and where water may be restricted from moving. The National Wetlands Inventory was updated for the U.S. Virgin Islands in October 2024 with funding to DPNR from the Environmental Protection Agency and completed by Ducks Unlimited. The Southeast Aquatic Resource Partnership is currently collecting data to include the U.S. Virgin Islands in the assessment of its restoration work that informs where partners like the Army Corps of Engineers works.
