IEP Made Easy – Hands-On Guide is a gift of love and dedication to you, fellow Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers, to guide you step by step through the IEP process with the hope that the information presented will be utilized to create the most appropriate IEP document that adequately reflects the needs of individuals with a disability.

Why I Created This Workbook

As a parent advocate, I have walked alongside families navigating the special education system under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). I have seen too many parents feel overwhelmed by legal terminology, procedural safeguards, and meetings where critical decisions are made about their child’s education.

I created IEP Made Easy to ensure that parents and caregivers—especially those in the U.S. Virgin Islands—have a clear, legally informed, and practical resource. This workbook empowers you to understand your rights, actively participate in IEP meetings, and advocate confidently for a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) for your child.

At its heart, this workbook is a labor of love and community support, built to give parents the knowledge, tools, and courage to stand up for their children. It emphasizes faith, hope, and the belief that every family has the ability to make a lasting, positive difference in their child’s educational journey.
