August 29th - Gobblerfest
Gobblerfest is an annual involvement fair to promote opportunities with student organizations, departments, and the broader community to kick-start the year. The Undergraduate Student Senate participated and had a table where students could sign up for emails, ask questions, and get free merch!
September 30th - Oath of Office
Every semester, following the election of new senators, the Undergraduate Student Senate (USS) hosts a formal Oath of Office ceremony. During this event, newly elected senators are officially inducted into the Student Senate, where they take their oath, celebrate their new roles, and receive their official senate pins as symbols of their commitment to serving the student body.
October 3rd - Homecoming Parade
On the Friday of Homecoming week, Virginia Tech hosts a parade that begins at Lane Stadium and ends on the Drillfield near the Pylons with a fireworks show. USS participated by wearing our Hokie Effect shirts, holding signs, and throwing candy to the crowd!
October 21st - Pizza & Parliament
On October 21st, the Special Programs Committee hosted a “Pizza and Parliament” event where students could write down their concerns about Virginia Tech, submit them anonymously, and enjoy a slice of pizza. Rain or shine, our Special Programs Committee was there to listen to and hear from our students.
October 28th - Pumpkin Painting
After a Tuesday Senate meeting, our Membership Development Committee hosted an internal event where senators painted pumpkins, enjoyed pies, sweet treats, candy, and snacks. These Membership Development events are a great way to build community and connect with fellow senators outside of formal meetings.
