USM Maths Quiz 2023

USM Maths Quiz 2022 is an event under the School of Mathematical Sciences and Math Society of USM, in which our commitment is to "Nurture Creative Minds" for our participants, so that they are able to see the beauty and creativity within Mathematics.

With that, we would like to thank you all for your participations in Maths Quiz 2023. We truly appreciate your support and commitment in this competition, going up and beyond to challenge yourselves with our questions.

Moreover, congratulations to the winners from the JUNIOR and SENIOR categories of the competition. They have tested their limits and capabilities, and challenged their minds to succeed. Also, let us not forget the BEST SCHOOL, where each of the 10 participants had contributed their marks to help emerge their school victorious.

Let us not forget as well our generous sponsors in this competition. With their support, we are able to manage the behind-the-scene works to make USM Maths Quiz 2022 a reality. With that said, we would like to thank PERSAMA for the incredible monetary support, and StatWorks for sponsoring the superb prizes too!

Last but not least, thank you for the great commitment of USM Maths Quiz 2023 committee members. Their continued work and support had enabled us to reach this conclusion. It is no surprise that we have problems and disagreements, yet we all pushed through to realise this event. Our gratitude should also not go unnoticed towards our advisors, in their great support to help us resolve any problems encountered.

Introduction to USM Maths Quiz

Since 1985, the USM Mathematical Sciences Society has conducted the Penang State Mathematics Quiz as one of its annual activities to cultivate interest in Mathematics among secondary school students, as well as to nurture and expose them to naturally occurring daily mathematical problems. The exploration for finding these mathematical solutions requires creativity and critical thinking and will, in return, produce a well-rounded and solution-oriented student.

Due to the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, USM Maths Quiz 2023 will be conducted via an online platform, SpeedExam.
